A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Salford .

Police were called to Cross Street, at the junction of Broad Street, just after 6am on Friday.

A woman was injured after being struck by a white Vauxhall Insignia.

She was taken to hospital in an ambulance suffering from head injuries.

A police spokesman said her injuries are not thought to be serious or life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

The road was temporarily closed at the junction of Broad Street for a short time this morning.
