Hurricanes registered their first win

Cape Cobras and Hobart Hurricanes, both of whom lost their first games in Group B and are at the bottom of the pile of five teams.Cobras won the toss and elected to bat, they lost Amla in 2nd over of the game but Levi who got fastest T20 hundred provided them a good start by scoring 42 of just 30 balls. At one stage they were 132-6 in 16th over and were in danger of running out of steam but a quick half-century stand between Peterson and Philander has taken them to a superb score of 184, definitely not the worst No 7 and 8 combination in the tournament, they put on 52* on just 24 balls.

It was a massive target but Paine and Dunk provide Hurricanes a quick 50 runs opening stand on just 27 balls. Huuricanes lost their way in the middle and were 121-4 in 15 overs. At one stage they required 44 runs of only 18 balls when Blizzard played a blinder, he scored 78* at Strike rate of 162 and finish the match with 6 balls to spare. Blizzard & Wells scored 24 runs in 18th over (Philander) and 20 runs in 19th over(Langeveldt), it was a great run chase.

Aiden Blizzard is the Man of the Match, obviously. “It was great to bat deep, to have Johnny wells who is a very cool head. Great to get win on the board. We struggled through the middle against spin, but when the quicks came back on it was now or never.
